Aquael Zeomax Plus 1L

Zeolite is an incredibly absorptive material composed primarily of silicon and aluminium and is capable of removing high levels of ammonia from an aquarium or pond system. It can be used as a preventative method but also for emergencies in which ammonia suddenly rises and ‘spikes’, threatening fish and invertebrate health. Upon an ammonia spike, it will become quickly saturated with the ammonia over a period of 3-4 weeks, after which it should be removed and replaced if the problem persists.

Zeolite should not be a permanent addition to your filtration and should only be used for preventative and emergency situations surrounding ammonia presence. Zeolite will not remove other toxins from the water so it is recommended to also have activated carbon ‘charcoal’ in your system to absorb other chemicals.

The Zeolite stones should be held in a media bag when placed into the filter or sump to ensure ease of use.
